
Muthoot Finance pays Literary Tribute to Former Chairman Shri. M. G. George Muthoot; Releases Book to Honour his Remembrance Day

Kochi, March, 10, 2022: Muthoot Finance, India’s largest gold loan NBFC company has conducted a Literary Tribute to pay homage to their former Chairman Shri. M. G. George Muthoot in an event held at Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty in Cochin, Kerala. H G Dr.Yakoob Mar Irenios – Bishop of Cochin Dioceseunveiled and presented the book to Smt. Sara George Muthoot, wife of Former Chairman Shri. M. G. George Muthootin the presence of various dignitaries belonging to diverse fields of politics, religion, art, judiciary, business, friends and members from The Muthoot Family.
Shri. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi – Minister of Minority Affairs & Deputy Leader of Rajya Sabha and Shri. Arif Mohammad Khan – Hon’ble Governor of Kerala delivered the virtual address in the event. Shri. P. J Kurien – Former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Shri. Hibi Eden – MP of Ernakulam, Shri. Jose Kurien – Consultant to Govt. of Kerala were present during the occasion. Industrialists Shri. Deepak. L. Aswani – Chairman FICCI State Kerala Council, Shri. Jose Thomas – Director Fruitoman’s Company, Shri. Anand Menon – Former Chairman of Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry marked their special address in the event. Shri. Balachandra Menon – Film Actor, Director and Scriptwriter also made his special address in the event.

The book “M. G. George Muthoot – Remembering a Prodigy of Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Humanity” is an elaborate account of Shri. M. G. George Muthoot’s life and experiences. It includes various stories and narratives from his formative years – childhood and studies, and his tenure with The Muthoot Group of Companies, shared by his family members, close friends, politicians and business persons. The book has inputs from a wide range of people whom the Chairman had made acquaintances with over the decades.
The event also witnessed an official handing over ceremony of ‘Token of Commitment’ to MuthootAashiyana House Construction project at Edavanakkad, Cochin to Shri. Hibi Eden, MP, Ernakulam by Shri. George Thomas Muthoot, Joint Managing Director and Shri. George Alexander Muthoot, Managing, TheMuthoot Group. A total of 14 houses for the deprived families is included in the project initiated under the CSR activities of The Muthoot Finance.
On the sidelines of remembrance day of Shri. M. G. George Muthoot, Muthoot Finance has already kick started month long CSR initiatives all across India addressing various needs and requirements of the underprivileged communities. The activities include housing for the underprivileged (under the flagship MuthootAashiyana Housing Project), support for differently-abled people (under the patronage of Snehasancharini Project), providing healthcare facilities, scholarships to deprived and deserving students, sustainable livelihood support to migrant laborers and contribution in Swachh Bharat Mission. These month-long initiatives are aimed at impacting over 10,000 people.
