Home Minister today said that government will be able to bring broad gauge railway line to Aizawl by 2021.
Inaugurating the North East handloom and handicraft exhibition in Aizawl, he said that Modi govt is committed to the development of the North East and its harmonious growth. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 23,000 people in Mizoram have been given LPG connections.
He said Modi govt has decided to make bamboo treated as a grass species so that it is economically available to local people. From this decision, the best benefit will be for the northeast. He said PM Modi has relentlessly contemplated taking the region to move ahead and achieve more progress.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, PM Modi, has given exclusive time to different groups regarding their aspirations. He said that Land border agreement with Myanmar has been done and the project of Inland water has also started with Myanmar. He said centre has approved 43 projects worth Rs 300 crore.
On the occasion, Mizoram Chief Minister Shri Zoramthang, Assam Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sharma were also present. CM Zoramthanga in speech applauded the initiative of The NEC. He said his government has mooted plans to make Mizoram highest per capita income state in the country.
