Jamia Millia Islamia organized the first Mashir-ul-Hasan Memorial Lecture on 2020st October 2020 with the collaboration of Mashir-ul-Hasan, in the memory of the renowned historian Professor Mashir-ul-Hasan, who was the Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia till 2004-2009Professor Sogata Bose, Guardian Professor of History, Harvard University, gave an online lecture on ′′ Asian globalism in the era of nationalityProfessor Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, paid tribute to Professor Mashir ul Hasan, said a lecture, he was a teacher of history and as vice chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia for almost 3 decades. He completed hundred years of the university.
Mentioned and said today Jamia Millia Islamia is number one of the best central universities.Professor Sogata Boss, a renowned historian of modern India, spoke on the role of renowned leaders of the Indian national movement such as Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore, plus modern Chinese nationalists like Sun-Yat-Sen in the 20 century. Which is due to the aggressive nationalism of the Asian Covenant Globalism and the second half of the other Asian countries that lightened on European types of imperialist policies.Professor Boss urged Asr Present to bring better understanding of Asian powers, which should ensure a narrow nationalism-free future by adopting a new independent comprehensive ideal values of universal nationalism.Dr. Zoya Hassan, Professor Emeritus, JNU, as a historian and a builder of modern university, with a universal theory and mission, lighted the achievements of Mashir-ul-Hasan.Professor Asaduddin, Dean, School of Humanities and Languages spoke with the title of Advisor-ul-Hasan person and personality, and said Professor Hassan loved humor as well as arts and aesthetics.
Discussing Professor Boss’s lecture, JNU Professor Amritus, Dr. Parbhat Patnaik said that when poverty and inequality are wiped out from Asia especially India, the ideology of Asian unity and universalism will prove to be result. Said India needs to move towards a true welfare state that guarantees minimum income for all globally.The end of the Mashir-ul-Hasan Memorial Lecture was thanked by Coordinator Professor Rumki Basu, the words of the Department of Political Science.
