On Saturday night, the spirit of India's timeless epic, the Mahabharata, took center stage at GD Goenka World School, where nearly 250 students from Grades 3 to 12 put on a great show. The event started with the theme, called "Mahabharata: The Timeless Epic," was a mix of drama, music, and dance that also honored the academic achievements of the school's best students.
Students gave an incredible performance that blended art, literature, and history in a modern way, telling stories of dharma and tenacity as well as the triumph of resilience. The audience, which included parents, faculty, and notable visitors in the auditorium, applauded the school choir and musicians for their efforts to enhance the event.
The Scholastic Awards Ceremony for Grades 6–12, which covered Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS & A Levels, and IBDP segments, was another event that recognized academic excellence. Certificates of Merit, Academic Awards for high achievers, and the esteemed Chairman's Award for outstanding IGCSE performers were among the prizes given out.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mrs Sonali Sinha reflected on the school's ethos and commitment to holistic education, stating that GD Goenka World School believes in creating an environment where every child can truly thrive, grounded in strong values, resilience, and a sense of purpose. She added that the day's celebration reflected this vision and the promise of a brighter future.
The evening was graced by Chief Guest Mr Manan Bhardwaj, acclaimed Indian singer, songwriter, and Bollywood Filmfare awardee, who appreciated the students' talent and dedication. He acknowledged the inspiring way the students brought the Mahabharata to life and commended their passion on stage as well as their commitment to academic excellence, highlighting the nurturing environment at GD Goenka World School.
By merging tradition with modernity, the event offered not just a celebration but a reminder of the power of stories, values, and education in shaping future leaders.
