The Department of Sanskrit, Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) has organised an International webinar titled ‘Examination & Stress Management under the Pandemic of COVID-19’ through Google Meet on Monday. JMI Vice Chancellor and Chief Guest Prof. Najma Akhtar inaugurated the webinar. Prominent scholars presented their views during the day-long webinar.
Prof. Akhtar informed the participants that JMI has recently organised four batches of Faculty Development Programs(FDP) for capacity building of around 800 university teachers in online teaching. Teachers and students are getting benefits of the FDP. She appreciated the efforts of the Sanskrit Department and it’s HoD Prof. Girish Chandra Pant for organising the first international webinar on a very important topic.
Prominent Sanskrit scholar and Presidential honour awardee Prof. Dipti Tripathi, renowned linguistic scholar Prof. Heinz Werner Wessler from Uppsala University, Sweden, Prof. Girishwar Mishra, former VC, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Dr.Anju Seth from DU, Dr. Shruti Kant Pandey from Amity University, Dr Lala Shankar Gayawal, Dr Rajvir Shastri, Dr Vishvjeet, Dr PC Yadav presented their views during the webinar.
Prof. Dipti Tripathi delivered her lecture on quick ways to help eliminate exam stress while Prof. Mishra extensively talked about combating exam stress and studying efficiently.
Prof. Heinz Werner Wessler who teaches in the Department of Linguistics and Philology in Uppsala University comprehensively talked on how to overcome exam stress and anxiety.
Prof. S.M Sajid, Chairman of the Mental Health and Counselling Committee, JMI was the Guest of Honour and Prof. M. Asaduddin, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Languages, JMI presided over the webinar.
More than 600 people registered for participation in the webinar but only 250 research scholars and experts could particip ate due to technical constraints. The webinar was steamed live on Facebook also.
Dr Abhay Kumar Shandilya was the convenor of the webinar which ended with a vote of thanks from Dr Dhananjay Mani Tripathi of Sanskrit Department, JMI.
