Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has reached a significant milestone by receiving a record number of applications for its Ph.D. program for the academic session 2024-25. The university has invited applications for admission to 68 Ph.D. programmes spanning various faculties, departments, and centers. A total of 7,106 applications were received, including 3759 from the exempted category and 3347 from the non-exempted category. The admission tests were conducted on November 30 & December, 01, 2024 at six distinct centres situated on the university campus.
The last date for submitting the online admission form was initially set for October 30, 2024, but was subsequently extended to November 15, 2024. Additionally, the form remained available for editing until November 18, 2024.
The Vice-Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, along with Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, visited the test centres accompanied by the team of Proctor Office and Controller of Examinations, JMI. During the visit, they engaged with students participating in the admission test and expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements provided by the Office of the Controller of Examinations at JMI.
The Vice-Chancellor has instructed the Office of the Controller of Examinations to issue a scorecard for each student, outlining the final marks obtained in the admission test. The initiative has been implemented to enhance transparency in the admission process.
