'IIT Baba,' also known as Abhay Singh, who gained popularity during the Maha Kumbh, has been taken into custody by Jaipur Police. He was detained after allegedly threatening to commit suicide on social media.
A team from Shipra Path Police Station reached Classic Hotel near Riddhi Siddhi Park in Jaipur and took him into custody.
During the arrest, the police found ganja (marijuana) and other narcotic substances in his possession. He is likely to be charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
This incident comes just days after Singh claimed he was assaulted during a news debate on a private channel in Noida on February 28. He alleged that some saffron-clad individuals entered the newsroom, misbehaved with him, and beat him with sticks.
Following the incident, 'IIT Baba' staged a protest outside the police outpost in Sector 126. However, he later withdrew the protest after being persuaded by the police.
