Jaipur: To protect crops from damage caused by stray and wild animals, the state government is implementing the Field Fencing Scheme 2026-27, under which farmers can receive subsidies of up to 70 percent for fencing their agricultural land.
The scheme aims to reduce crop losses and improve farm security by encouraging farmers to install protective fencing around their fields. Financial assistance will be provided to individual farmers, farmer groups, and community farming groups under different subsidy categories.
Eligibility Criteria
- Farmers of all categories are eligible for the scheme.
- Individual and group applicants must possess at least 0.5 hectare of land in a single location.
- Farmers registered as custodians of temple land in revenue records are also eligible for the subsidy.

- Land record (Jamabandi) not older than six months
- Patwari-certified land map (trace map)
- Small/Marginal Farmer Certificate (if applicable)
- Mobile number linked with Aadhaar
Subsidy Details
Under the scheme:
- Small and marginal farmers will receive 60% of the project cost or up to ₹48,000 per farmer.
- General category farmers will receive 50% of the project cost or up to ₹40,000 per farmer.
- Community groups comprising seven or more farmers will receive 70% of the project cost or up to ₹56,000 per farmer.
The subsidy rates have been fixed at:
- ₹120 per running meter for small and marginal farmers,
- ₹100 per running meter for general category farmers, and
- ₹140 per running meter for community groups.
Subsidies will be available for fencing up to a maximum of 400 running meters.
Key Conditions
- Individual applicants must have a minimum of 0.5 hectare of land.
- Group applications require at least two farmers.
- Community fencing projects must involve at least seven farmers and a minimum of five hectares of land.
- Fencing must be constructed according to prescribed technical standards.
- Both wire fencing and chain-link fencing are eligible for equal subsidy support.
- Submission of GST bills for fencing materials and installation is mandatory.
Application Process
Farmers can apply through the Raj Kisan Saathi Portal, e-Mitra centers, or the Agriculture Department. Officials have urged eligible farmers to apply on time and take advantage of the scheme.
According to the Agriculture Department, the initiative is expected to significantly reduce crop damage, improve farm productivity, and strengthen agricultural livelihoods across the state.
