The National Law University (NLU) phase of the second batch of the induction training programme for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)’s Direct Recruit Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer (EO/AO) Batch 2025 commenced on April 6, 2026, at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. The legal training phase forms part of the six-month induction framework designed for newly recruited officers.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Shri Kumar Rohit, Director, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS). The opening session was attended by Shri Manoranjan Kumar, First RPFC, PDUNASS; Prof. (Dr.) Girish R., Head of Academic Affairs and Professor of Law, GNLU; Dr. Hardik H. Parikh, Head of Training and Assistant Professor of Law, GNLU; and Shri Dinesh Kumar Mishra.
Addressing the trainee officers, Kumar Rohit underlined the importance of developing a strong legal and institutional understanding to enable officers to discharge their duties effectively and with sensitivity. He urged them to emerge as agents of positive change aligned with the national goals of ease of living and ease of doing business.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Girish R. highlighted the importance of the rule of law within India’s constitutional framework and stressed that public officials must remain mindful of constitutional values while performing their responsibilities.
He added that the training being delivered at GNLU will equip participants with critical legal dimensions relevant to their future roles in public administration and regulatory functions.
This NLU phase is aimed at familiarising the officer trainees with the legal provisions central to the functioning of EO/AO roles within EPFO, strengthening their readiness for enforcement, compliance and quasi-judicial responsibilities.
