Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary on Friday felicitated the Super-100 winners of Veer Gatha 5.0 at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
Marking a significant milestone, Veer Gatha made its international debut this year with the participation of 28,005 foreign students studying in CBSE schools abroad. Of the 100 Super-100 winners, 64 are girl students representing different regions of the country. Each winner was awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000, along with a medal and a certificate. The Super-100 winners will also be special guests at the Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path on January 26, 2026.
Congratulating the awardees, Defence Minister of State Sanjay Seth said initiatives like Veer Gatha ensure that future generations remember and honour the sacrifices of India’s great freedom fighters and brave warriors. Describing India as a land of valiant heroes, he urged young participants to draw inspiration from national icons such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Birsa Munda, the Sahibzades, and Swami Vivekananda, whose courage, dedication and sacrifice continue to inspire the nation.
Addressing the students, Seth said, “You are the brand ambassadors of Viksit Bharat 2047.” He highlighted that more than 1.92 crore students participated in the fifth edition of the initiative, underlining its growing impact in honouring India’s brave warriors through education. He also praised the intelligence, enthusiasm and patriotic spirit displayed by the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary emphasized that initiatives like Veer Gatha play a crucial role in educating school students about the bravery and sacrifices of India’s heroes while nurturing young talent. He noted the record participation of over 19 lakh students from more than two lakh schools, including international participants from the UAE, Qatar and Malaysia. Students paid heartfelt tributes to national heroes through activities such as drawing, painting, essay writing and short video creation, celebrating their exemplary service and sacrifice to the nation.
